TGIFC30 - White Christmas!

Helloooooo, Friday!  You know what that means...

The TGIF Team is back with another challenge!  We're into a theme this week - White Christmas.

My play on White Christmas is rather... well, not white!  My interpretation of this is a dusky, calm night where the bright white of the snow lights up the evening.  To me, that's a white christmas; when the city is so white that the night just glows.

I created this effect with a watercolour background (I don't even remember the colours I put in this... but I know there's Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Soft Suede, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow... there might be a few more and there's some blending in between to create a few extra shades!)  After the background was dry, I stamped the trees on top and then got to work on the Bokeh Technique.

The bokeh background technique is one I've shared before - check it out here.  It's a really fun, really fabulous technique!

After the Bokeh was done to my satisfaction, I used a q-tip and some saline (why not water, Shannon?  Why is contact lens solution your go-to?  Nobody knows...) to "clean" the white ink off of the trees, then I heat set the background.  A bit of silver Dazzling Details on the tree branches finished the look!

And of course, the best part of TGIF Challenges is that we want YOU to play along! Check out what the rest of the design team has up their sleeves this week, and then get craftin' to create your own!  Can't wait to see you there!
