July Paper Pumpkin: Thanks A Latte!

July's Paper Pumpkin arrived on my doorstep this week and IT. IS. AMAZING.  Easily one of my favourites (and yes, I know, I say that every month - they're constantly outdoing themselves!)  It included two of my favourite things - succulents and tea (or coffee, if that's more your cup!)  My husband laughed and asked if they were taking a cue from our house - I have little sedum succulents and hens & chicks potted in teacups on my windowsill.  :) 

This kit included the supplies for 8 cards as shown below - with various sentiments and succulents (and some steam, a teabag, etc.)  So cute! 


And of course, I never make them ALL exactly the same as the kit - I always use the box of supplies to play on my own, too!


Shuffling those same pieces around creates a totally different card!  I'm going to have SO much fun playing with this stamp set.

Happy... Divorce?

A while back, at the Stampin' Up Canada mini-conferences, one of the creative folks from our head office had mentioned that they often get requests for a "congratulations on your divorce" stamp set. The room erupted with laughter, but the idea stuck with me - if people are requesting it, there's a market, right?! I know one woman who had a divorce party a couple of years ago, so it's not like this is an unheard-of occasion.

Last week, I started building this card with a wedding in mind. And then something happened - I picked up the heart before the Crystal Effects was totally dry, and I cracked it. Well, crap. What now? I wasn't going to throw it out and start over - that stuff had already been sitting for HOURS! And then I remembered the conversation at conference.


I decided to roll with the punches - I kept wiggling and cracking that heart until it was all busted up.  Then I found the perfect post-divorce sentiment - Happy Healing - and my happy accident took shape. 


It was a happy accident that the Typeset DSP background (cut and laid like hardwood) ended up with "This is no Humbug!" in the bottom right corner.  True story!
