Rainbow Balloon - Lift Me Up

Hello friends!  

We are just TWO sleeps away from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue, launching on June 1st.  Can you believe it?!  I'm just aflutter with anticipation! 

Yesterday was the last of the retiring features - today I wanted to do something different.  We've spent the whole month of May focusing on what's leaving and what's coming, but there's a whole other category of stamping supplies that we've neglected - the "staying!"  Many of our favourites from the annual catalogue as well as the Occasions 2017 catalogue will be returning, so we have more time to play.  Lift Me Up is one of them!  

This darling stamp set is packed with hot air balloons and accompanying sentiments, and it even comes with adorable Framelits to coordinate.  This card uses mostly the framelits to create this simple rainbow balloon.  White-on-white clouds in the background are a soft and sweet layer.  So easy to create with a few cranks of the Big Shot - my must-have tool!

I will have one last sneak peek for you tomorrow - gotta whet that appetite for all of the new stuff launching on June 1st!  See you soon!

Hello friends!  Just a short and sweet blog post before I run off to sew the night away...

One of the very first things to sell out in the Occasions 2017 Catalogue was the Love Notes Framelits Dies - they were a SUPER hot item, and they were gone in a flash!  Just because these framelits are gone doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the coordinating stamp set, Sealed With Love.  It's a beauty!

This card was whipped up in a flash with four shades of pink and red, two stamps, and a touch of cardstock.  Do you see the trim around the sentiment?  That's a little peek at a new punch, coming June 1st!

Hello friends!  Did you think I forgot about you?  I almost did... but it's still technically Friday so I'm not technically late, right?!  Whoops!

Today has totally slipped away from me, but I still wanted to pop on for a daily post!

Today's cards are fun because most of the items are returning - but there's a few super items that are retiring, so I wanted to share how you can sneak them into your projects created with new and returning supplies.

Happy Celebrations, the stamp set I made these cards with, is carrying over - YAY!  It's such a fun favourite and I can't wait to play with it some more in the coming year.  Also carrying over?  The Large Numbers Framelits, which give cards an extra-special touch - I won't make a kids birthday card without them!

Retiring, though?  All of those fabulous touches of red.  The Real Red grosgrain ribbon is gone come May 31, as is the red and white DSP, from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack.

And lastly?  My most favourite stamp set - Gorgeous Grunge.  I'm going to miss that one SO MUCH.  It's a must-have to add to your collection!

Hello Ladybug!

Hello, friends!  We are marching on with our retirement features this month - and gearing up to the new catalogue launch on June 1st!  

Today's featured stamp set is another favourite - Beetles & Bugs.  This set had very mixed reviews, with some people finding it exceptionally cool and others saying the ick-factor was too much.  I definitely fall into the first category.  I think the stamped bugs are just perfect - bold, bright, fun, and perfect for the little dude in my life!

So while beetles and ants might not be everyone's cup of tea, most people will admit to liking ladybugs.  I picked those out for this card, and threw them all in a jar.  

This card reminds me of a really gross memory - in university, when I lived in the dorms, we had a horrendous ladybug problem every autumn.  They would slip in the windows and we'd constantly be finding them in our rooms.  It was a common solution to have an empty bottle from the cafeteria - think Snapple or the like - and just pop the ladybugs in it and seal it back up.  There were too many to constantly be catching them in a tissue and walking down to the bathrooms to flush them, so we'd collect them in bottles and chuck them every few days.  So gross, right?!  

Alternately... just think of when you were a kid.  Keeping a ladybug in a jam jar with a few blades of grass was always a fun summer activity.  :) 

Either way, I love the bright, cheery ladybugs contrasted with a black, grey, and white background.  And SO much of this card is retiring!  Jar of Love, the stamp set with these adorable mason jars - is carrying over to the new catalogue.  However, it will not be bundled with the Framelits anymore.  So while both items will still be available, you'll only be able to save 10% on them until May 31st!  Retiring on May 31st?  Beetles & Bugs stamp set,  the beautiful Real Red grosgrain ribbon, BOTH patterned papers shown here, the "Hello!" sentiment from Chase Your Dreams, AND - ouch, this one hurts - Gorgeous Grunge, my most favourite stamp set of all time.  Yikes.  Don't miss out, friends - shop 24/7 in my online Canadian Stampin' Up!
