Celebrate - All The Good Things

Hello friends!  Happy Monday - I hope your week is off to a dreamy start!  I'm up to my eyeballs in work lately but still trying to check in when I get a chance - I'm writing this on Sunday night before bed!  :) 

Today's card is a fun favourite I've had socked away for a few weeks - this one was a special request from a customer, who needed a pretty anniversary card.  I pulled this sentiment from "Labels to Love," which goes to show you can use the holiday stamps all year round!


This card is bathed in metallics, isn't it?! I loved the gold on the koi fish so much that I had to work it into the rest of the card - with four separate gold elements, I hope I didn't go overboard!  Ha!

50 Gold Feathers - Feather Together

Hello friends!  

How's your weekend going?  It's a long weekend here in Canada, so we are enjoying some extra time as a family - it's so nice to have my husband home and we can all spend time together.  

Today's card has been socked away for a few weeks - another one I've been saving!  This soft and simple card was created by request of a customer - she was looking for something beautiful and traditional for her in-laws' anniversary. 



I decided to go with gold and Soft Sky, and the feathers were such a beautiful feature that I wanted to let them shine on both layers, in both colours.

I decided to go with gold and Soft Sky, and the feathers were such a beautiful feature that I wanted to let them shine on both layers, in both colours.  The simple tone-on-tone background lets the gold stand out; the feathers were heat-embossed on Glossy White Cardstock, which was then sponged with Soft Sky.  The gloss makes it a little extra special and goes nicely with the shine of the gold. 

 The stamp set shown here, Feather Together, is one of my old favourite stamp sets, but there's some new stuff right around the corner.

Anniversary Congratulations - Falling Flowers

Hi friends!

Will all of the buzz around a new annual catalogue, we often forget about our old favourites that have returned for another year.  I think I'm overdue for featuring something that falls into that category!

This card was a customer request for a bright anniversary card.  I love the Falling Flowers stamp set, and I hadn't had a chance to use it it, so this was the perfect occasion!  


This fun colour combo of Berry Burst, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, and So Saffron with touches of gold is both fun and formal, and the "Congratulations" on the outside is joined by "Happy Anniversary" on the inside, both from the Best Birds stamp set (another oldie!) and both embossed in gold.
