Introducing NEW Host Sets - Artfully Folded

Hello friends! It's the end of the week, and I've got one more post up my sleeve! I've spent the first week introducing you to a few of my favourite things - Monday was In Colours, Tuesday was the Sea of Textures Suite, Thursday was the Colour Revamp, and today, I'm featuring Host Stamp Sets! While this is the last post of the week, there's still PLENTY more to share and many more posts to come this year - we're just getting our feet wet!

This beautiful stamp set features gorgeous origami shapes in different styles and sizes - they can be stamped in outline or filled in with colour - plus a few other decorative elements, and a gorgeous sentiment.

Do you remember that sentiment on the card I shared yesterday? I told you I'd tell you where it was from! "Be your own kind of beautiful" is small and sweet, and stands alone as the only sentiment in this beautiful set.

On this card, I paired Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, and Grapefruit Grove with Whisper White for a soft and sweet effect. I love that the "Happy Day" sentiment, from the brand new "Itty Bitty Greetings" stamp set, could be used for a wedding, a birthday, or any other occasion!

Fancy Friday - CASEing Occasions

Hello friends! The week is (finally!) coming to an end, and so is April - that means we are back for another round of Fancy Friday! The Fancy Friday Blog Hop is a group of friends that love sharing our creativity with fancy projects - how fitting! As promised yesterday, I decided to use this month's Fancy Friday post to share the first sneak peek of Stampin' Up!'s 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue on my blog! I've had some supplies for several weeks now and have been enjoying getting acquainted with them, and I know you're going to love them too. We still have a while to wait - the catalogue launches to customers on June 1st! - but my Canadian friends who shop with me during April will receive a catalogue in the mail next month - make your wish list and check out the links at the bottom of this post to get shopping!

Our theme this month is CASEing the Occasions Catalogue. CASEing is a crafter's favourite way to break out of a creativity slump or get the juices flowing. It stands for Copy And Share Everything, and it's a fun way to copy or re-create projects and give them your own twist!

This is the card I came up with this month, copying a card from the Occasions Catalogue almost to a tee, but recreating it with fabulous brand-new and unreleased supplies!

Can you spot which card I used as my model? It's on page 17, and it's a beauty.

That little deer was replaced with an adorable chick from the upcoming stamp set called Pick A Pennant and capped off with a combination of two sentiments from the brand new Animal Outing stamp set. These are just a teeny tiny sneak peek of the stamps included in these two adorable sets - you'll have to wait to see more!

Do you spot any other brand new items when we zoom in?

The faceted gems are gorgeous, aren't they? And that colour! It reminds me of a Grapefruit Grove... hint hint! But my all-time favourite new embellishment is the GORGEOUS Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon - I see many rolls of that in my future! Happy 1st Birthday - Sweet Cupcake

Good morning, friends! April is upon us - hard to believe, since in Calgary, we still have several feet of snow in our yard! But something fresh is around the corner, at least - this weekend, I'll be heading to On Stage Local in Red Deer, Alberta, to take in the brand new Stampin' Up! Catalogue! I can't WAIT to see what fabulous new stamp sets, dies, and accessories are in store for us this year!

In the meantime, though, there's still several months left of the current 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue AND the 2018 Occasions Catalogue, and I need to focus on paying as much attention to these beautiful supplies as I can - you never know what will be retiring (until next weekend!)

Today I'm featuring an adorable stamp set, called Sweet Cupcake, for the very first time. I haven't used this one before!

Sweet Cupcake looks a bit intimidating at first, but I promise, it's easy as pie - each piece of the cupcake layers upon the last for a really cool, dimensional look. I loved how this came together, and even with my crappy vision and unsteady hands, I nailed it on the first try. I'm calling that a win!

This card was made for our nephew, who celebrated his first birthday last weekend. The tone-on-tone die-cut numbers in the background added such a sweet touch to this little cupcake for the birthday boy.

Sometimes those little details make all the difference in making a simple card a little more special.
