Happy Birthday, Old Lady!

I lamented my pain last year - and shared it in a blog post! - but the earth has done another lap around the sun and here we are again!

I love to spoil my friends with a cake or cupcakes on their birthdays and a homemade card - and this is always fun and a total pleasure to do, except when it comes to my best friend - because that's where the stress comes in!  She's not only a Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team member (now a two-timer, too!) but a retired pastry chef!  No pressure, right?!

That said - I know she would love anything I made so the pressure is waning as the years go by.  I decided to have a little fun this year and make her an old lady card for the old lady milestone birthday she was having.  I had to work some hot pink into it, since that's her favourite colour, and the rest is (ahem) history.  (Oh, I crack myself up sometimes.)

And this is what I came up with!  Hahaha.  I wrote a sweet message inside to make up for the mean sentiment on the front.  Because that's what friends are for.  :)  Instead of a cake, I made her waffles for breakfast (complete with an entire spread of condiments - butter, syrup, fresh fruit, powdered sugar, bananas, nutella, and more!)

I originally bought the No Bones About It stamp set with my four-year-old son in mind - he loves dinosaurs, like every boy out there!  And now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I've only used it to make age-related puns for my grown-up loved ones instead.  Ha!
