Happy Birthday - Lined Alphabet

Hello friends!  Happy Saturday!  I'm cheating and writing this on Friday afternoon to post tomorrow - I'm heading out to see Trevor Noah tonight (all the heart eyes!) and trying to get my bases covered before I go!

Today's card was a happy experiment with Brusho, ink, and minimal supplies - this card was created before my first full order from the new catalogue arrived, which meant I had virtually no ribbon or embellishments to use!  It was a bit of a challenge to bring in lots of colour and texture without my usual supplies, but a few creative twists and a whole lot of mess later, and this beauty was created.  I really love how this turned out, which is great because Brusho has a mind of it's own!

What IS Brusho?  It's a watercolour crystal powder that comes in a little shaker - so after wetting your paper, you sprinkle it on and let the colour burst in whatever direction and design it chooses.  Sometimes it's gorgeous, other times - at least for me - it goes in the garbage and I try again!  This one was perfect on the first try.  A few splatters with a Bermuda Bay marker and a few suns stamped on, and this background was complete and ready for the sentiment.

I love this colour combination of Mango Melody with Bermuda Bay.  It's so pretty!

All of the supplies shown here are available in my Online Canadian Stampin' Up! Store - have you made your wishlist yet?   Get shopping, friends - these new supplies are to die for!
