Happy Birthday - Petal Pallet meets Oh So Eclectic

Hello friends, and happy Saturday!  It's a VERY happy Saturday for me - as you're reading this, I'm in the city that never sleeps, the bustling metropolis of Red Deer, Alberta (ha!) for OnStage 2018!  This is an event exclusively for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that gives us the very first look at the upcoming 2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, including new In Colours, stamp sets, and more, as well as freebies and the opportunity to play with the new items, as well as hang out with our Stampin' friends from around the region (and the world!)  I am SO excited - I've been buzzing all week about this!

While I'm off squealing with joy and delighting in all things stampy, I wanted to share a card with you today - and this card features the very first stamp set that I received from the current annual catalogue, which was a freebie at last year's OnStage event!  I love it when things come full-circle.

I made this card for my grandma - she's turning 88 this year, and I love to spoil her with a pretty handmade card every year.  This colour combo is SO different from what I usually do - and I love it!  I'm trying to force myself out of my comfort zone a bit more often, so subtle Soft Sky and rich Tranquil Tide seemed like a good way to go.  Paired with Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, and Lemon Lime Twist, they're just dreamy, aren't they?!

As the end of the catalogue draws near, I'm trying to use up a lot of my ribbon - and I've managed to get three different kinds on this card!  Have you ever tried pulling threads out of your ribbon?  Simply cut the side edge off of your piece, then use your finger nails to pull single strands out of it.  They make a beautiful embellishment.  In addition to the 1/4" Ombre Ribbon in Lemon Lime Twist and the 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon in Bermuda Bay, I've threaded the 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon in Lemon Lime Twist to add the soft loops of lime thread to the background.  I'm giving away free ribbon this month - scroll below for details and you can try this technique yourself!

I hope you love this card like I do - it was one of my most recent favourites to create!

In other news this month, we've got a fabulous Project Pack, an AWESOME April Shopping Bonus, and more!  Keep reading...
