You Octopi My Thoughts - Message In A Bottle

Hello friends! May is here (which is pure craziness, by the way - there is still snow in my yard!) and I've been crafting up a storm the last several weeks, trying to get as much use out of my retiring supplies as I can. Did you know the new catalogue will be released in just one short month?!

I've noticed that I tend to hoard the things I love the most - I decide they're too pretty to cut, but then they go into the retirement pile totally unused and it breaks my heart! One of those things is the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate and the Naturally Eclectic Card Overlays - both are decorative acetate sheets with beautiful prints on them, and they're SO gorgeous and SO delicate that I've barely used but a sliver because I'm afraid to use them up... and now they're retiring, so I've been hacking them up like crazy and trying to give them the love they deserve! You'll be seeing a lot of acetate on my blog in the next month... and trust me when I say you need to add a pack to your shopping cart before it's gone! I'm so sad I didn't indulge in this fabulousness sooner!

Today's card is ALL about retiring supplies - virtually everything shown here is leaving us at the end of this month (or when it sells out - whichever comes first!) Starting with the Message In A Bottle stamp set, which is one of my all-time favourites, and through to the acetate, the Designer Series Paper, the embellishment, and the cardstock and ink colours, I needed to show so many of these lovely supplies one last tour of my craft room before they get boxed up and donated or sold. You're On Fire - Magical Day

Hi friends! I'm back today with another set of retiring favourites - sigh! It's the season of saying goodbye, but it's okay, I promise - the season of saying HELLO! is right around the corner, with the new catalogue being launched on June 1st. I'll be giving you the first introduction to the upcoming Stampin' Up! catalogue on the blog tomorrow, but not before we give some love to this retiring favourite - Magical Day.

This stamp set and Designer Series Paper were an instant favourite for SO many people - and with adorable characters, fun patterns, and bright colours, who can blame them?! I've used the mermaids and the unicorns before, but this was my first time showing that dragon some love. He colours up beautifully with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers for a fabulous shaded look - and it's SO easy, I promise!

One of the most fun things about this card was getting to play with Brusho Watercolour Crystals - these fabulous little bits of colour burst and pop when they contact water, creating a one-of-a-kind look every time. They're a blast to play with! I used Brusho on this card to create the dark blue circle behind the dragon, as well as the burst of flames - so fun!

Thankfully, Brusho is sticking around in the upcoming Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, but so many of our favourites here are not! We will be saying goodbye to the Magical Day stamp set and coordinating Magical Mates Framelits Dies, as well as the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper. It's also curtains for the washi tape, black thread, Tangerine Tango, AND the Diagonal Stripe Background Stamp shown here! Yikes!
