Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop - Moroccan Trio

Hello friends - welcome back for another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop - we are sharing the Moroccan Nights suite in conjunction with the Duet Banner Punch and Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  You are likely coming from my lovely friend Rachel in France, you're with me (Shannon) in Canada, and you'll be off to see Steffi in Germany next - please take the time to hop around the world with us!

The Moroccan Nights suite was an unexpected surprise for me.  I'll be honest - it wasn't something that stood out or caught my eye when I first saw it, but once I got my paws on it, I couldn't stop playing with it!  I've completely fallen in love with the stamp set and the Designer Series Paper.

Whipping up three cards turned out to be a total breeze - everything coordinates beautifully together and whether you're using one colour, two colours, or five, the suite comes together in a total work of art!

I started with one simple, monochromatic card featuring rich and beautiful Delightful Dijon.

My second card is almost identical, but using two colours - the bright and bold Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim, two of the 2016-2018 In-Colours!

Isn't it amazing how the same card can be transformed from rich and luxurious to bright and bold, simply by changing the colour scheme?

Lastly, I wanted to incorporate more of the colours... plus the embellishments, including a stack of washi tape banners!

This last card was so fun to create, and I love that the sentiment could be changed to virtually ANYTHING because of the vast selection of words in Thoughtful Banners!  You Are Inspiring could be You Are Fabulous, Blessed, Crazy, Carefree, or Sweet.  The mix-and-match coordinates with this stamp set lead to endless possibilities - I just love it!

Next up is Steffi in Germany - let's hop over and see what she has for us today!

Thank you so much for visiting today, and I'll see you again soon!

Cheers,
Shannon

Flamingo Quick-And-Easy Thank You

Hello friends!  I've got a quick-and-easy card for you today - so quick and easy, I used it as a make-and-take at an event that I was running for 24 people with less than 24 hours notice!

Wait, what?!  Well, back in July, my bestie became very ill.  Like, really sick.  I've known Allison for quite a long time, and she is a trooper whenever she is ill.  She powers through, the toughs up, she bucks up and deals with it.  Because "I am woman, hear me roar!"  And also, because "ain't nobody got time for that."

This time was an exception.  She had been struggling for a few days - still powering through when necessary - and then on Saturday, she called me at dinnertime and just said "I need to go to the hospital."  Her husband wasn't home and she certainly couldn't drive, so I whipped over and picked her up.  That trip to Urgent Care was followed by an ambulance ride, an admission to the hospital, and three more days of around-the-clock care in an isolation room.  It was really bad.  She documented some of it in a blog post, if you'd like to read more (or see pics of her in a hospital gown or me in an isolation suit!)

In the middle of that stay, Allison was scheduled for two back-to-back events totalling 24 people - and, well, that wasn't going to happen from her isolation room!  She didn't want to cancel with less than 24 hours notice, so... Yup.  That's what friends are for.  My husband and I cleaned the house like madmen, I whipped up a couple of make-and-takes, and I ran over to Allison's place to let myself in and steal all of the supplies and items I needed.

Needless to say, the make-and-takes had to be QUICK.  One of them went MIA following the event (I think someone spilled a drink on her own and I sent her home with mine, if I remember properly - the whole thing is kind of a blur!) and this is the other one.

This flamingo card whipped up in a flash.  The guests loved it and it was so quick and easy to create with limited supplies.  All of the charms of a good make-and-take!  (#nailedit)  It was really nice to be able to take care of this and let Allison get the rest and care she needed without her business suffering.   I know she would've done the same for me in a heartbeat - hell, she once came over at 4am to sleep on my couch so someone could be home with my son when my husband took me to the ER!  Because that's what friends are for, right?  (Love you, girl!)

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you're having a fabulous day!

Cheers,
Shannon

Fiesta Spinner Card

Hello friends!  What a crazy week it has been.  My baby boy - my only child - the boy I quit my career and stayed home for - started kindergarten this week!  We are so fortunate that a brand new elementary school has JUST completed construction and it's a less-than-five-minute walk from our house.  We went together on Wednesday for a tour and to meet his teacher.  He was so excited to start school and absolutely LOVED his first day.  On the second day, I walked him to school and once we got to his door, he said "there's my class, gotta go!" and ran right off!  No hesitations, no tears.  I'm so proud of my baby and the little boy he's becoming; so smart, so keen, so friendly, and so excited for new experiences.  I really hope he maintains this joy about school.

Today is my day to finally sit down and craft, so I've got some ideas swirling in my head and some Project Life layouts I want to create while these school memories are fresh, so I'll be whipping those up shortly.  Before that, though, I still have a card or two in the queue to share!

I mentioned ages ago about how much I love the spinner dies, and that spinners aren't just for kids! This fun fiesta card with a spinning cactus was whipped up in a flash, and it would be perfect for any tequila-loving birthday boy or girl.  I love that the spinners SPIN.  They don't just slide - they actually SPIN.  It's so fun to see them in action!

Off to my craft room - it's time to hit the paper HARD.  Have a fabulous day!

Cheers,
Shannon

Mountain Adventure

Hello friends!  September 1st marked the launch of the 2016 Holiday Catalog from Stampin' Up!  It's the most wonderful time of the year!

It seemed fitting to mark the occasion with a card made with new supplies.  I don't want to rush Christmas, but living in the rockies, I couldn't resist the amazing Mountain Adventure stamp set!

The skis!  The snowboards!  The snow-covered mountain tops!  All things that make me feel right at home.  And check out some of those new embellishments - Sweet Sugarplum glitter ribbon and sequins?  Yes please!

Thanks for stopping in today - I'm heading out for a fun-packed day!

Cheers,
Shannon
