Perfect Mix

Hello, lovelies!  I'm back from a fabulous weekend in the mountains at a crafting retreat - pure bliss!  No obligations and quality time with my inks and stamps.  Lots of goodies coming soon, but I wanted to share an old card first!

At the beginning of the Occasions Catalogue, my upline hosted a team swap; we each chose a stamp set and made cards, then swapped them all so we had a set of samples with lots of different ideas.  I chose Perfect Mix; I love the baking images!

I whipped up an adorable mixer card - which I loved - but it was TOTALLY impractical for a swap.

Can you guess why?  If you know the stamp set, I'm sure you can!  The mixer and the sentiment are actually both part of the same stamp, so to create the background, I had to mask it; cover the sentiment with masking tape, stamp in the ink, peel of the masking tape, and stamp on the card.  And there are 11 mixers on this card... What a nightmare that was going to be!  I loooove this card, but it is NOT perfect for mass-production!  Back to the drawing board...

This is the next design I came up with.  This one was a keeper!

This one was great!  Not too hard to cut the images, an easy background, and super cute.  Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party go great with Smoky Slate for a sweet colour combo.  A bit of Wink Of Stella on the measuring spoons adds the perfect shimmer!

I love swapping with my teammates, and this card was a blast to make.  I hope it inspires you to cook something up in your craft room!

Cheers,
Shannon
