Colour Challenge - TGIFC10 - Birthday Fry Box

I'm so excited to share my last-minute entry for TGIF Challenges this week - it's a colour challenge!

Much to my amusement, this week's challenge is called "Is it Color or Colour...?"  Guys.  OBVIOUSLY it's coloUr!  :)

So here is my entry for this week's challenge, featuring the oddly-tricky combo of Smoky Slate, Blackberry Bliss, and Island Indigo.

The Fry Box die makes a birthday treat SO much more fun, and the fringe scissors make cutting custom crinkle a snap.

And that sentiment?  HILARIOUS.  Now who do I treat to this bit of sugar and sarcasm?  Bwahahaha...

Have a fabulous day!  There will be no Triple-Up Thursday this week, but make sure to check back on Friday for a VERY special blog post!

Home Made Baking Tags

July 1st was Canada Day, and what better way to celebrate the day than with a pan of Nanaimo Bars?  Actually - there IS a better way, and I did it.  TWO pans of Nanaimo Bars.  Yeaaaaahhhh.

I made one pan for a friend as a thank you for a favour, and another pan for my husband - they're his favourite, and he was SO kind to point out that in the 13 years we've been together, I've never made them for him!  I kind of had to at that point, eh?

Anyway, I love packing up sweets in a special way and the Homemade For You stamp set was perfect to make a sweet little tag.

I took my colour inspiration from the Nanaimo Bars themselves - Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, and So Saffron.  Gotta match my crafting to my baking!  :)

Now, today's picture is kind of a decoy - that Kraft Gift Bag actually has an acrylic Stampin' Block in it!  It looked way cuter than a pan covered in foil, though, so I stuck the tag on that for a picture.  It would be awfully cute way to deliver a little treat!

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day to my friends south of the 49th parallel!  I made this card a couple of months ago and it turned out to be so inadvertently-American that I decided to save it for a special occasion.  Red, white and blue with stars?  Independence Day, of course!

Wishing you and yours a fabulous holiday weekend!

It's Your Day! Typewriter Birthday Card

This fun little card was truly a labour of love - you know when you just pick away at a project over the course of a few hours - when you know it's coming together but you're just not quite there yet?  This was one of those projects!  I had the idea to stamp the "tap tap tap" through the Polka Dot Mask, and it went from there.  And in the end, you can barely see those "tap tap tap" polka dots!  Sigh!

Today's Crush On Colour is one of my favourite combos that I use often - Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, and Melon Mambo.  Nothing is as bright and cheerful as this one!  Pin this handy image for easy reference.

We celebrated Canada Day here on the blog this week, and although I'm not an American, I didn't forget about my friends south of the border - there's a special card for you guys (erm, I mean "all y'all!") tomorrow!

Triple-Up Thursday: Silhouettes and Script

Hello again and welcome back to Triple-Up Thursday!

First time here?  Triple-Up Thursday is a weekly feature where I share a set of quick and easy 3x3" cards made with one stamp set and five ink colours - proof you don't need a stocked-up craft room to create!  Check out the "Triple-Up Thursday" label for more of these posts!

Today's feature stamp set is Silhouettes & Script, a brand new hostess set.  The combination of images and those fun little label-maker sentiments are so sweet!  The lovely Allison Okamitsu of NicePeopleStamp.com sponged the little peach to create a multi-tone image, and that was the jumping-off point for today's creation.  So cute, right?

Today's Crush On Colour pallet is Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pool Party, Pear Pizazz, and Tip Top Taupe.  So fun and sweet and charming.  Feel free to Pin this image to your Pinterest board and save it for later!

The two-tone sponging is twice-as-nice on the pear as well as the peach - isn't this just charming?

Although a single-colour image is just as nice with this sweet baby card! Switch it up for any other colour and you're fit for any little one in your life.

And, from the card that inspired it all, that fun little peach.  Mmm, so perfectly summery!

Thanks for stopping in and checking out this week's edition of Triple-Up Thursday!  See you again tomorrow!

Oh, Canada! True Patriot Love

Happy Canada Day!  We'll be off to the waterfront shortly to celebrate with live bands and fireworks, but I wanted to stop in and share a quick card!

Does it get more Canadian than this?  A big maple leaf, a vintage map of the Hudson Bay, and a line from our national anthem - Oh, Canada!

Have a fabulous day - celebrate with some poutine and Nanaimo bars, eh?  :)

Cheers!
