Bold & Graphic & Stacked With Love

Hello hello!  I hope you had a fabulous long weekend!  We enjoyed an extra day with my husband at home, a big family dinner, and my husband and I went to the theatre to see The Book of Mormon, which was crude and offensive and absolutely hysterical.  We loved it!

It's a bright, sunny, beautiful day in Calgary today so I wanted to start this week with a card that feels the same.  I think this is the most DSP I've ever used on one card!


I just love the bold, graphic black and white prints in the Stacked With Love DSP Stack.  They're so classic and they go with everything.  Here, I've paired everything with touches of Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Bermuda Bay and Silver. 

You can't tell from the picture, but this card has a really fun fold.  The circle lifts up and the middle opens in two flaps - just a nice change from the usual!  

See you again tomorrow for a beautiful baby card - our family welcomed a baby girl on Easter Sunday so it will be heading to my cousin Jessica to welcome her new addition!

Paper Pumpkin Mashup - Layers of Gratitude + Filled With Love

It's no secret that I love love love my Paper Pumpkin stamp sets and I reuse them all the time.  Wait - is it still "re"-using if I've never actually made the original kit?!  Confession - I just like the box full of supplies - I rarely create the intended project!

Today's Paper Pumpkin Mashup combines two kits - Layers of Gratitude (February 2015) and Filled With Love (January 2015) with a fabulous set from the Occasions 2015 catalog, You Plus Me.  I'm super into the combo of bright yellow and grey right now, so that was my jumping off point for this card.  (Another confession:  I'm drafting this post late Friday night and I've obviously had a little too much wine as I just typed "humping off point."  THAT would have been awkward.  Consider this fair warning for any other typos you may find, hopefully with less innuendo.)


Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry with crisp Whisper White, a touch of Basic Black, and that tiny little silver heart.  Simple, clean, and non-fussy.  A great "love" card for the men in your life!  Uh, man.  :)

Do you ever punch or stamp or cut and then not use the piece, so you sock it away in a little pile to save it for later?  That's where that little silver heart came from.  I think it's the first time I've actually used a piece from that pile.  One day, I should make one card with all of it.  It will be hideous, but at least it will be off my desk.

Triple-Up Thursday: Everyday Occasions Card Kit

I've been super-excited to share this Triple-Up Thursday.  It's been brewing in my brain for a couple of weeks, and here it is!

It's no secret that I like to use Stampin' Up kits (and My Paper Pumpkin) for pretty much everything BUT their intended purpose.  Well, today's post is no exception!  The Everyday Occasions Card Kit is a fabulous all-in-one kit that's perfect for the beginner crafter, but if you've been at this for awhile, it's also a box chock full of GREAT stuff; designer cut-outs, embellishments, and an exclusive stamp set!  Eek!

So, today's Triple-Up Thursday is three more cards made with the Everyday Occasions kit and the exclusive stamp set that comes with it.  The ONLY other item I've used for these cards is a pair of scissors and some adhesive - it even comes with its own clear block!


Aren't all of the little elements here adorable?!  I'm just enamoured with this kit!  The prints, the colours, the fonts, the GLITTER!

Inspired By... Painted Driftwood.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen the actual piece of decor that inspired this card.  I have a set of shelves in my bathroom with a mishmash of shabby, beachy decor in tones of whites, neutrals, and blues.  It's one of my favourite little nooks in the house.  One of the pieces up there is a star made of painted driftwood, and that's what inspired today's card.



I used the Star Framelits, Hardwood stamp, scoring board, and various inks and embossing powders to create this look - it's not *quite* how I envisioned it, but I love it nevertheless.  Put together with rustic burlap and Soft Sky, it's just as I hoped.  Peaceful and serene!
