Snuggles and Smooches

What a cool day today has turned out to be!  I received an email this morning from Stampin' Up!'s home office to notify me that my project has been selected as a winner of their Paper Pumpkin challenge!  We were invited to submit alternate projects made from stamps in past Paper Pumpkin kits.  I submitted a few cards, and something - I don't even know what yet - was chosen.  Woo hoo!  I'm getting spoiled with a mini shopping spree, so I'll be cashing that in later this week!  Can't WAIT!

In other news - while we're on the Valentine's Day theme on the blog, I thought I'd share a little something from Snuggles and Smooches, one of our newest photopolymer stamp sets.  Have you seen this one yet?  It's adorable!  So fresh and fun.  The swirls can be used in so many ways and the sentiments are so versatile, this set can be a staple all year 'round.

I wanted to go non-traditional colours for this valentine, so I opted for a fun pallet of Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, and Blackberry Bliss.  Three of my favourites, for sure.

Those swirlies make a great background AND a fab focal point - the background was done with Whisper White craft ink, and the bundle of "flowers" was done with embossing resist.  It's a super fab technique - stamp with Versamark, emboss with white Stampin' Emboss Powder, and heat set.  When you're done, just sponge over it with the colour of your choice.  So easy.

Have you made any valentines yet?  What sets and colours are you using?

Cheers and see you again soon!

Embellished Kraft Gift Box

Do you ever have to hop out of bed at 2am because you got an idea that you don't want to lose?  This was one of those projects.  I had to get up and sketch it so I wouldn't forget by the morning!

This sweet little gift box was made with one 12x12 sheet of Kraft card stock and our Gift Box Punch Board.  If you love the Envelope Punch Board (and who doesn't?!) the Gift Box Punch Board should be your next purchase.  It's awesome!

Embellished with the Flower Patch stamps (with coordinated framelits for easy cutting and layering), Typeset DSP, and some twine and sequins, this box came together in a flash.  I'm going to save it for my mom for a little Mother's Day treat (spoiler alert!  Sorry, ma!)  In fact, I actually embellished the bottom of the box so I could still open the flaps without ruining everything!

Check out the supply list below for those fab new trims - you'll need to grab those too!

Happy crafting!

Triple-Up Thursday - You + Me

Welcome to this week's Triple-Up Thursday - three 3x3" cards with one stamp set and five ink pads!  This week's feature is You + Me, from the new Occasions 2015 catalog - a really fun and flirty set, just in time for Valentine's day.  We ARE less than a month away now!

I decided to keep the colours traditional since the stamps are more modern.  Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Real Red, Basic Black, and Smoky Slate.  Easy peasy!

A couple of quick punches...

 A scrap of twine...

Or a bit of ribbon.  That's all it takes to dress these up!

This is a great little set you don't want to miss, either for Valentine's Day cards or to spoil your sweetie year-round.

Cheers!
