Bright Christmas... in February!

I had an itch to make a Christmas card recently... and this is coming from a girl who almost never makes Christmas cards!  I wanted something fun, bright, cheery, and non-traditional... and this is what I came up with!

We have a few fantastic holiday items in our annual catalog, and you won't want to miss them; February is as good a time as any to get a jump start on your holiday greetings, after all!

The tree punch makes cutting these out a breeze, and Crazy About You pairs so well with the "merry" thinlit.  Love!

Have a great day!

Cheers,
Shannon

Sun-Kissed Scrapbook Layout

Hello friends!  I recently purchased a Canon Selphy printer and it has totally changed the way I scrapbook.  I used to have to plan my layouts, choose my photos, send them to the printer, wait at least a day or two, drive there to pick up, THEN I could finally get to work.  This is virtually instant; I can literally just press a few buttons on my phone and 30 seconds later, I'm holding the print.

Because I can do this, I can whip up a layout when the mood strikes me.  This was one of those. I wanted a simple, blissful moment from my recent trip to go with a neutral layout.  The 12x12 Kraft Cardstock was calling my name; it's so beautiful and showcases a page beautifully!  Plus, Kraft goes with everything, doesn't it?

Scrolling through my photo album on my phone, I found a photo that spoke to me - I took it from my own point of view while I was lying on the beach one afternoon.  My legs in the sunshine with the ocean in front of me.

This seems like an pretty non-traditional photo to scrapbook, but it made me feel wonderful and was such a nice moment of the trip.  It made me feel happy.  A simple title with one of our Hello You Thinlits was perfect.

I did a bit of journalling with the Alphabet Rotary Stamp, but I also like to write directly onto my layouts sometimes.  There's really no need for a journalling card or a separate area - just jot some notes right onto the cardstock.  Our Project Life Journalling Pens are great for this.

Mine reads - "Warm legs in the sun.  Shortly after this photo was taken, I had too much rum with my lunch and fell asleep on the beach."

Simple moments like this are worth documenting.  That's what memories are made of.  :)

Cheers,
Shannon

Triple Up Thursday: Love You Sew

Longest.  Week.  EVER.  Am I right?  This one has just dragged!  It is finally (only?) Thursday and I thought I'd do something this week that I haven't done in ages - Triple-Up Thursday!  This was a staple on my blog before the Artisan stuff started - since that is scheduled for Thursdays, I got out of the groove of this!

First time here?  Triple-Up Thursday is a simple concept - a set of three 3x3" cards made from basic supplies - one stamp set and five ink colours.  I tend to post projects with long supply lists, so once in a while I like to keep it simple - something for every level of stamper!

This week's feature set is the gorgeous Love You Sew, one of the host sets from the Occasions 2016 catalog.  You won't want to miss this one!  It is a host exclusive, so only available as the host of a workshop or party, or with an order of $200+.

Check it out!

Crazy cute, right?  I love the font and all of the little embellishments - the sequins are my favourite!

Here's what I whipped up with it.

This set is a total must-have for any crafter.  You'll want to snap it up before it's gone!

Cheers,
Shannon

Rainbow Sunburst... Stampin' Up Style!

I mentioned last week that I was in a creative slump for a couple of weeks - they happen to all of us!  I was chatting with my fabulous friends on the Artisan Design Team and asked what they do to slump-bust-  one of my favourite suggestions was to find a card you love, and then CASE it (Copy-and-Share Everything!) with Stampin' Up! product!

I thought this was a fab idea and knew exactly which card to CASE - this beauty, by Vanessa Menhorn, had been on my Pinterest feed recently and I fell in love with it!

I used our Sunburst Thinlit die to create a stencil, then got to work with sponges...

A little spin on it with my own favourite supplies and tricks (splatter, heat embossing, sequins!) and it was done!  I loved this idea to break a creative slump and it was so fun to do!

Hope you're having a great day - see you soon!

Cheers,
Shannon

Botanical Birthday

Hello friends!

Have you checked out the #I'mBringingBirthdaysBack movement?  The fabulous Shannon West at Stampin' Up Home Office got tired of opening up a mailbox full of bills and junk mail and decided to do something about it, committing to sending a birthday card to anyone on their special day - because wishes on social media are NOT the same thing!  A few short weeks later, Shannon personally has a list of over 2000 birthday cards to send out - yikes!

We should ALL be bringing birthdays back, shouldn't we?!  I don't know about you, but my stash of cards is bursting at the seams.  Many of them are sold every year and the majority are donated (Ronald McDonald House and Operation Write Home are two great causes that love homemade cards!) and yet I barely send any out - probably fewer than 20 cards per year!

Here's a birthday card to get you started today... lets bring birthdays back together!

The brights of the Botanical Blooms flowers combined with the graphic print of Go Wild DSP is so much fun!

Have a fantastic day!

Cheers,
Shannon

Global Love

Hello friends!

I'm just popping in quickly this morning to share a masculine card with you - any crafter knows these are a challenge at the best of times, so a bit of extra inspiration never hurts!

This card features the fabulous stamps and DSP stack of the Going Global collection.

The patterns are gorgeous and work beautifully together with each other and the stamps.  The sentiment on this could easily be subbed out to make a card for any occasion.

I hope this helps you out today and inspires you to make something for the men in your life.

Cheers,
Shannon
