Very Merry Holiday Wreath

Hello friends!  Thanks for stopping in again today!  I have a fun wreath to share with you - this one has a bit of a whismsical, fun, casual, vintage flair to it!  It's also SUPER fast... well, at least as far as wreaths go.

The Festive Flower Builder punch and Reason For The Season stamp set came together to create the beautiful poinsettias, and I wanted those to be the focal point.  A cluster of those - one fancied up with some gold - bordered the burlap-wrapped wreath nicely, but it needed a little bit more - some strung trims and a little banner completed the holiday look.  So fun!

Holiday Tin - a Paper Pumpkin makeover!

Good morning!  Can you believe that we are in the teens-away from Christmas already?!  Eek!

If you're a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you would have received the November 2015 kit, called Mistletoe & Holly already... and if you're not a subscriber, why not?!  Paper Pumpkin is pretty much the best thing since pre-sliced cardstock.  It's also a super easy addition to your wishlist - there's links below to forward a loved one!  Wink wink, nudge nudge.

My Paper Pumpkin kit tends to be a jumping-off point for me.  I usually make one or two of the intended projects, and then consider the rest of the box to be a new addition to my supplies.  And my new supplies this month were AWESOME!  The stamps were amazing, the die-cuts and patterned paper were adorable, and the teeny-tiny Dimensionals might have been the cutest thing I've ever seen.  

I had a little silver tin in my closet (between yesterday's post and today's, are you starting to wonder what my closet in my craft room looks like?!  I don't want to talk about it...) so I decided to fill it with some treats and decorate it up.  By adding a belly band around the tin, the whole pieces easily slides off without having to rip it!  

I just love how this little beauty turned out.  It's so nice to add a touch of homemade love to a simple gift to really kick it up a notch.  Chocolates taste better when they're presented with a pretty paper and embellishments and twine, don't they?!

Wonderland - Luxe Holiday Decor Block

Hello friends!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend.

Last week, my fabulous Stampin' Up! upline, Allison, hosted her annual team get-together and gift exchange for Christmas.  She had her whole team (minus a few unlucky ones who couldn't make it!) over to her beautiful studio for a home-cooked meal, some crafting, and a gift exchange.  We've done the gift exchange before, and it's a blast - we have one rule, and it's that your item must be handmade.  My stampin' sisters are an amazing bunch of very talented women and the gifts never cease to impress!

I decided to put together a little piece of holiday decor to give to my gift recipient.  I've been borderline OBSESSED with the Wonderland suite lately, and I knew that beautiful collection needed to be part of my gift!

I've been hoarding some Decor Blocks from Stampin' Up for longer than I care to admit - they were retired quite a few years ago, and I still had an unopened box of four in my closet.  I'd been saving them for a special occasion, so why not now?

Here's what I whipped up.

Each side of the block has a different piece of the Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP on it - the beautiful black, white, and gold patterns are just gorgeous and each one shines!  I decorated the front first, using the Wonderland stamp set and Winter Wonderland vellum - a lot of shiny embossing powders! - and then spun it around to do something a little bit different on the back.

On the back, I decided to make it a little more modern and funky to provide an alternative from the rather traditional front - that way, it's got some options depending on the recipient's decor!  This side used more sparkle, more twine, and a funkier sentiment.   A big piece of Whisper White Satin Ribbon tied around the whole block and into a big bow at the top finished it off. 

The recipient of my gift was my beautiful friend MaryAnne, and she loved it - perfect to bring some holiday cheer to her desk at work, she said!

Hexagon Thanks

I'm taking a quick break from the holidays here on my blog (while I decorate the house for Christmas today, so that's funny!) to share a thank you card.  We'll all be needing a batch of these for hosts, gifts, family, and friends after the holidays, so here's a little inspiration today!  

I haven't used my hexies in what seems like ages - they were an absolute hands-down, must-have-it favourite of mine when they were released, and you know how it goes - as new stuff comes in, the old favourites tend to fall by the wayside.  I had to dig this beauty out and show it some love again!  

It's nice to pull away from your go-to colours every once in a while, too - this led me to my lesser-used Lost Lagoon and Delightful Dijon, paired with my staples of Old Olive and Typeset DSP (the Frank's Hot Sauce of my craft room, if you know what I mean!)  I love mixing the rich Vanilla and deep black of Typeset with Whisper White cardstock - it creates a luxe and slightly vintage-chic look.  Who says ivory and white don't go together?  (I used to.  I'm sorry.  I know better now!)

Jingle All The Way!

Good morning, friends!  It's late Friday night and I was in bed when I remembered this post was scheduled for the morning and I hadn't written it yet - I'm sure some of you have busted me posting blank entries before and I'm trying not to let it happen again! 

Today's card came together with an ensemble of my favourite things - bright colours, music, glitter, patterns, and a collage front and centre.  This is one of my favourites this christmas!  

I was dying to use the "jingle" sentiment and I forced the stamp into a curve when mounting it - this created a little border for a focal point, and everyone knows I love the messy collage with a bit of everything!

Hello, friends!  It's that time of the week again - Triple-Up Thursday is here!  (First time joining me?  Triple-Up Thursday is a weekly-ish feature where I share a set of three 3x3" cards made with a basic set of supplies - one stamp set and five ink colours.
