Bitty Birdies - Color Me Happy

Hey friends, and happy Tuesday!  Have you heard the news?  Stampin' Up! launched a brand new line of alcohol markers earlier this month, called Stampin' Blends.  And I am OBSESSED!

These gorgeous markers - 27 shades in total - blend as smooth as butter and make anyone into an artist.

And while they were at it, they launched a brand new stamp set, which is where these adorable birdies came from!

Color Me Happy is only available for a limited time, and it has the most fantastic images in it - perfect for the beginner through advanced colourer, and perfect for brushing up on your skills!

Fancy... Saturday? Bonus project featuring Christmas Pines

Good morning, friends!

Yesterday was my monthly Fancy Friday blog hop post (click here if you missed it!), and I mentioned that I loved our sketch challenge so much that I made a second project.  I wouldn't be much of a blogger if I told you that and didn't SHOW you, so I'm popping in today for a same-but-different version of the card I shared yesterday!

Using the same sketch layout and Designer Series Paper layers, I changed the card from traditional with vintage whimsy to something bright and fun.  I love that so many of the same elements come into play here, yet the finished product is SO different - that's what a wash of Lemon Lime Twist watercolouring will do!

I'm at a craft fair all day and will be starting off the holiday season that way - I hope you have a fabulous Saturday!  I'm going to try and sneak in another post before I return to my regular schedule on Tuesday, so check back soon for another fun card!

But wait!  Before you sneak off,  check out what else is going on this month!

Fancy Friday Sketch Challenge - Christmas in the Making

Hello friends!  Phew, I'm back again already (two posts in one day!) for a Fancy Friday blog hop!  My veeeery fancy friends and I - a mix of former and current Stampin' Up! Artisans and generally amazing papercrafters - are bringing you a sketch theme this month!  Check it out...

I looooved this sketch - so much that I made two cards with it!  I mean, I love creating from sketches in general, but this one gave me a GREAT canvas for one of those fabulous retro ladies from the Christmas in the Making stamp set, and I've been dying to share this one!

I'm breaking some rules with this one.  While I stayed super on-track with the sketch, I veered away from one of the best things about Stampin' Up! supplies - the colour matching!  I mixed two different reds and two different greens.  And I don't even feel bad about it.  I mean, she looks fabulous, right?!

That image was a ton of fun to colour with the brand new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.  I love the ability to make highlights and lowlights in her dress and hair with such ease.  The markers are a DREAM to use - I can't wait to share them more with you, and I know you'll want to add them to your craft stash too!

But wait - I said I made two cards, didn't I?!  I saved the second one for Saturday... stop back then to see a same-but-different version of this card!

In the meantime, let's hop over to my Fancy (and SO kind, and incredibly talented - like WHOA, she humbles me!) friend Paula Dobson and see what magnificence she's whipped up!
