It's a Little Cheesy - Dad Jokes

Hi friends, and happy Friday!  It's a gorgeous day in Calgary and after spending the morning in my craft room, I'm getting ready to head to a fabric sale with my bestie this afternoon.  What could be better?  Oh, I know - PIZZA!

Pizza is literally the perfect food, isn't it?  I'm pretty sure it's not only delicious, but also contains something from every food group if you do it right.  What's your favourite kind of pizza?  I'm all about Neopolitan pizza, thin-crust, oven-fired, and folded in half before biting in... ideally with artichokes, kalamata olives, and Sopressata.  Oh, geez, am I drooling?  Sorry about that...

Today's card is a little cheesy... pun FULLY intended, of course, as I feature the Dad Jokes stamp set!  This hilarious and eye-roll-inducing stamp set is a great one for the cheeseball guys in your life, which is basically every dad on the planet, isn't it?  Puns come with the territory of fatherhood.

But it doesn't need to be JUST for dad, of course!  This silly sentiment holds its own for a fun pick-me-up card for anyone in your life... as long as they love pizza.  And if they don't love pizza, why are you friends with them?!

Dad Jokes is on the retiring list this year, which means that come June, it's gone, gone, gone!  Also retiring?  That adorable little wooden heart frame, from the Hearts & Stars Elements.  Get 'em before they're gone - they're a favourite of mine and I know you'll love them too.

Most supplies on the retiring list are only available while supplies last, and they've already started selling out!  Check out the links below, make a shopping list, and head over to my Online Canadian Stampin' Up! Store to get shopping while selection is still available!

Pieces & Patterns & Bears - Oh My!

Good morning, friends!

As April marches on, Stampin' Up! is in full-on retirement mode - planning vacations, turning off the alarm, donating business wear, and getting a nice Hawaiian shirt, so to speak! - and my morning routine consists of checking on the demonstrator website to strike off items that are GONE, sold out, discontinued, never to return.  And with a group of cards that are made, photographed, and ready for blogging, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that my favourite items aren't gone before I get a chance to feature them!

Today's cards were two birthday cards for two special people, so I've been hanging onto this post until they both arrived.  I've been so excited to share these cards because this stamp set - Pieces and Patterns - was the very first stamp set that I ordered from the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, so it holds a special place in my heart!  It was an early favourite when the catalogue was released, and a year later, it's still one of my go-to sets.  I love this one and I know you will too.

I used the same layout and general technique for both of these cards, but changed up the colour and the background images for the two recipients.  I love how such a simple change creates a very different project!

The background was a snap to create, stamping the image repeatedly with Archival Basic Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock and then using a Sponge Brayer to layer Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay ink - it makes it feel a little more artistic, and provides more depth than just using coloured cardstock.  I love this look!  The bold patterns from the Tutti Frutti Designer Series Paper add a nice contrast, and the sentiment - Eat All The Cake! - from Birthday Banners completes the card with a bit of fun.  Lucky for us, Birthday Banners is sticking around... but the same cannot be said about Pieces & Patterns, Tutti Frutti Designer Series Paper, and the fantastic ribbons and twines I've used on these cards... and even the Archival Basic Black ink pad!  It's cleaning out its desk drawers and getting ready to sail off into paradise too!

Most supplies on the retiring list are only available while supplies last, and they've already started selling out!  Check out the links below, make a shopping list, and head over to my Online Canadian Stampin' Up! Store to get shopping while selection is still available!

Birthday Brew - Bubble Over for the Guys!

Good morning, friends!  I hope your weekend was lovely and your Monday is off to a beautiful start.  I've resigned myself to hibernating as Calgary is under another heavy snowfall warning... Yes, it's April 16th!  This winter has been long and cold and I'm so tired of it... I'm just shutting my blinds and pretending it isn't happening!

Meanwhile, in my craft room, I whipped up these two cards just for fun!  This adorable design isn't an original, however... read on!

Every quarter, Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are treated to a magazine from the company featuring all sorts of product information, project and class ideas, business tips, and more - it's just one of many perks Stampin' Up! Demonstrators receive!  Have you ever considered joining the fun?  This adorable card was on the front cover this past month, and I instantly fell head-over-heels for it!  It isn't often that I'll "CASE" (Copy and Share Everything) another card, but this one was a must-add to my collection.  It'll be great for the guys!

It's also a great example of two things - what's sticking around, and what's leaving us!  While I'm thrilled to say that the adorable Bubble Over stamp set and coordinating Bottles & Bubbles Framelits dies are carrying over into the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue, unfortunately, not much else here is!  We'll be saying goodbye to Dapper Denim, the beautiful blue ink and cardstock used on this card, as well as the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper (background) and the Garden Green Washi Tape from Basics Pack 2.  All of those items are only available while supplies last - when they're gone, baby, they are GONE.

Most supplies on the retiring list are only available while supplies last, and they've already started selling out!  Check out the links below, make a shopping list, and head over to my Online Canadian Stampin' Up! Store to get shopping while selection is still available!
