Why, Thank You - Gourd Goodness

Hello friends!

My favourite season has arrived - hoodie weather (but warm enough to still wear sandals!), cozy evenings curled under a quilt, and warm cups of tea have come into style this week as autumn rolled into Calgary.  This is, hands down, my favourite time of year.

As overnight frost threatened my garden, it was time to harvest the last of my veggies.  My son and I decided to plant pumpkins this year, simply to try something new.  We planted Pumpkin On A Stick (which is actually an eggplant...) and it never bloomed.  We planted Dill's Atlantic, a variety that "easily" grows 400-500 lbs and "often" up to 1000 lbs... and those are the size of soccer balls and pale yellow.  Not much success there!  But the third variety we planted, called Wee Bee Little, was pure perfection.

We were able to harvest seven of these perfect little pumpkins, each about the size of a baseball.  Some of them are a little tall and skinny, some are short and fat, some are smooth and some are warty.  They are beyond cute.

I shared a picture of my good gourds to Facebook because I was so dang proud of them... and as the evening went on, I kept thinking of a stamp set that had been sitting on my shelf for the last few weeks that I hadn't yet touched!  It's called Gourd Goodness, and it creates the most perfect photorealistic pumpkins with two stamps and one ink pad.  It's pretty darn amazing!

Aren't they charming?!  They're so perfect for fall, for harvest season, for halloween.  They'd be great for seasonal decor, invitations, or thank-you cards.  They're just perfect.

Autumn and pumpkins go perfectly with neutral colours, burlap, wood and lace, and a touch of copper - elements I've brought into this card in spades.

But my favourite part?  It's this little touch...

With a few folds and a stapler, the burlap ribbon becomes a ruffle.  Isn't it darling?

I love everything about this time of year, and I love everything about this card.

Autumn is my favourite.

Do you love autumn like I do?  What's your favourite part?  I've created a pinnable image for you to save for later - in case you want to create your own version! - or you can see me whip this card up in no time flat on my Instagram page or Facebook page.
